Mrs Joy Gillespie – from SOHTIS
‘Survivors of Human Trafficking in Scotland’
Joy has 20 years third sector strategic development experience across a wide range of vulnerable people groups. She has delivered large scale projects and worked in collaboration with Governments In the UK, Africa and Asia, academics and other local and global organisations. She has been a board member of Voluntary Health Scotland. the third sector’s health facing interface with the Scottish Government and been instrumental In the establishment and growth of a variety of third sector organisations and social enterprises. She sits on the Action Area 1 Implementation Group of the Scottish Governments Human Trafficking & Exploitation Strategy and the Cross Party Group for Human Trafficking.
Mrs Sharon James – from The Christian Institute
Sharon studied history at Cambridge University, has an M. Div from Toronto Baptist Seminary. and a doctorate from the University of Wales. She is married to Bill, who Is Principal of London Seminary. They have two grown-up children and four grandchildren.
Sharon works as Social Policy Analyst for The Christian Institute. UK. She has travelled to many countries as a conference speaker and is the author of several books, including ‘God’s Design for Women In an Age of Gender Confusion’ (Evangelical Press 2019) ‘Gender Ideology: What do Christians Need to Know?’ (Christian Focus, 2019); and ‘How Christianity Transformed the World’ (Christian Focus 2021).
We will have various other items in the programme and there will be a short interval during the morning’s proceedings.
