ALLOA:Moncrieff (Drysdale Street)

Anti-Burgher congregation dating from 1745 but rooted in earlier Praying Societies. Named after first minister, Rev William Moncrieff, and his father, also a minister. Present church opened February, 1851. Continued 1929, with their minister, Rev Dr Charles Robson.

BANNOCKBURN:MURRAYFIELD (Main Street)

A Burgher congregation dating from April, 1796. Entered Union 1929, and returned to UF Church, 2 October, 1945. Moved 1959 to more adequate building, former Ladywell Church of Scotland

BO'NESS: Craigmailen

Burgher congregation formed in Linlithgow 1747, part of early Seceder gathering at Craigmailing in Bathgate hills. Bo'ness attenders formed Craigmailen Associate Congregation 1795. Present church erected 1885. Adhered to Continuing Church 1929 with its minister, Rev D G Young.

BROXBURN: St Nicholas

A Free Church of the Disruption, 1843. By a majority of two, members of the West Church adhered to the Continuing Church in 1929 and worshipped in local halls until 1966 when, under the ministry of Rev I Matheson, they acquired the former St Nicholas Parish Church. Church Halls opened 1974.

BURNTISLAND:ERSKINE (Kirkbank Road)

One of the eight original Secession congregations founded 7th June, 1738 by Rev James Thomson, close friend of the Erskines. Present church opened on 14th October, 1903. Adhered by a majority to Continuing Church, 1929.

CANONBIE UNITED PARISH

An association of the UF congregation and Church of Scotland congregation. The UF congregation formed in 1843. Congregation adhered to the Continuing church in 1929. Church built 1851.

Membership 1929, from Dunfermline and district churches opened on 4th July, 1936.

DYSART (Normand Road)

Normand Road, a Relief Congregation of 1772, was joined in 1929 by the majority of St Serf's a Free Church of the Disruption, 1843. United congregation worshipped together for the first time, 15th December. Present church opened 1867.

EDINBURGH: CORSTORPHINE(Glebe Street)

Constituted 1929 by members of local congregations. Church opened 6th June, 1930 - first United Free Church (Continuing) building to be completed. Rebuilt chancel and memorial window dedicated October, 1954. Hall opened January, 1965.

 EDINBURGH: LEITH: Ebenezer

(Bangor Road, off Great Juntion Street Tel 0131-553 5243)

Congregation constituted in April, 1891, by members of Junction Road UP Church protesters against the use of fermented wine at the Lord's Supper. Junction Road Hall opened for worship as Ebenezer Church December, 1895. Adhered to Continuing Church 1929 with its minister, Rev William Shankland. Church demolished 1976 to make way for housing development. New church opened January, 1984.

EDINBURGH: PORTOBELLO:Wilson Memorial

(Moira Terrace, Portobello Road)

Members of Portobello:Windsor Place Church, a UP congregation formed 1836, with their minister, Rev S W Wilson, continued in 1929. Worshipped in local hall until church opened 29th September, 1934. Wilson Memorial Church since October, 1985.

GOREBRIDGE

Inaugurated by members from Gorebridge and Newtongrange, 3rd November, 1929, and associated with Leith:Ebenezer congregation. Services in Masonic Hall. Congregation constituted 1934 and church opened on 27th June, 1936.

STIRLING:ST NINIANS (Borestone Place)

Stirling had a small group of Continuers in 1929, but there was a considerable body of UF conviction throughout the district churches which found expression in the formation of St Ninians congregation on 5th April, 1931. Church opened on 20th October, 1934.

SAUCHIE & FISHCROSS

(Church Grove, Sauchie)

Sauchie congregation grew out of a mission by Rev John Dunn in 1913. In January, 1914 he was ordained and inducted and led the congregation by a large majority to continue in 1929. Fishcross Mission Church united in 1917. The congregation worshipped in Sauchie Public Hall until the church was opened in September, 1932.

WEST CALDER: Limefield

A Free Church of the Disruption, 1843. Present church built 1882. Entered the union in October, 1929, but in December was received with its minister, Rev Robert Christie, as a Continuing Congregation.
